February 10, 2012 Audible.com plans audiobook editions of ten of my books. October 2, 2011 The Shiver movie trailer is now on YouTube. September 22, 2011 Stealing Faces and Blind Pursuit have been on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists for a few weeks now. Mortal Pursuit was also on the USA Today list for a while. July 30, 2011 Stealing Faces hit #28 on the USA Today bestseller list. Pretty good for a self-published ebook! July 14, 2011 Blind Pursuit, a novel that I originally published under the name Brian Harper, is now available as a Kindle ebook and as a Nook ebook. July 5, 2011 I saw a rough cut of Shiver and was very pleased with it. The film is faithful to the book and features highly effective performances by Danielle Harris as Wendy and John Jarratt as Rood. February 9, 2011 My 1992 thriller Shiver, written under the name Brian Harper, has been filmed in Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles, and is expected to come out either later this year or in 2012. Probably it will make its debut on DVD. The film was written and produced by Robert D. Weinbach, and directed by Julian Richards. It stars Danielle Harris, John Jarratt, Rae Dawn Chong, Brad Harris, and Casper Van Dien. |

thriller about a serial killer who finds himself being
stalked by a mystery woman, is now available as a Kindle ebook Nook owners can buy it in a Nook edition. Sony Reader, iTunes, Adobe Reader, and Smashwords editions are also avaliable. |

Shiver, the first psychological
thriller I wrote, is now available in a Kindle edition, as well as a Nook edition. Other
editions include Sony Reader, iTunes, Adobe Reader, and
Smashwords. I wrote the book under my old pen name Brian Harper. Shiver was a bestseller in its print version, going through four editions. It was recently made into an independent film by producer Robert D. Weinbach. The ebook edition now sports a new cover including images from the upcoming film. |

In the 1990s I wrote six thrillers under the
pen name Brian Harper. All of them have been out of print for
years. I'm now bringing back one of them: Mortal
Pursuit. This book is now available as a Kindle ebook and in a Nook edition, as well as oin Sony Reader, iTunes, Adobe Reader, and Smashwords formats. Rookie patrol officer Trish Robinson isn't expecting to see any action during another routine night on the job. But when she and her training officer answer a prowler call at a remote estate, the two cops walk into an ambush laid by a crew of ruthless criminals. Disarmed, cut off from help, and outnumbered five to one, the young rookie must draw on inner resources she never knew she possessed as she plays a game of cat-and-mouse with hardened killers in a desperate battle to survive. |

I wrote Riptide in 2008, but the novel didn't find
a publisher in today's challenging marketplace. After
revising it extensively, I've published it myself. You can buy the Kindle ebook edition or the Nook ebook edition. The book is alo available in Sony Reader, iTunes, Adobe Reader, and Smashwords formats. For those who prefer print, Riptide is available for sale at CreateSpace as a large-format paperback. Amazon.com sells the printed book too. Jennifer Silence reads between the lines. A psycholinguistic analyst, she studies documents written by murderers, teasing out hidden clues. But nothing in her life has prepared her for the document that is now in her hands. A leather-bound diary from a crumbling crypt. The diary of Jack the Ripper. If it is genuine, it suggests a troubling connection between Jennifer's family and history's most infamous serial killer. A connection that may explain her father's suicide ... and her brother's mental illness. A connection that may implicate her brother in a new rash of killings, and prove that the Ripper's spirit still prowls dark streets and alleys, taking lives ... And the next victim may be Jennifer herself. Want to read a preview? The first two chapters are online. |
E-Reads editions of three hard-to-find "classics"
Three of my older books are now available in E-Reads electronic editions and in POD (print-on-demand) editions, as well.
The books are currently being offered as Fictionwise MultiFormat titles. According to the Fictionwise site, "Fictionwise MultiFormat titles are unencrypted eBooks that can be read with the FREE eReader application that you can download by clicking here." The free app is compatible with almost any device.
If you want to buy the books (and come on, why wouldn't you?), visit the E-Reads Michael Prescott page, or click on any of the cover photos below to go to that title's sales page.
(Note: E-Reads controls the pricing of these books.)
You can also find these books at Fictionwise by clicking these links:
Next Victim introduced FBI agent Tess McCallum and featured a complicated plot that combined terrorism with a manhunt for a serial killer.
Dangerous Games brought back Tess and teamed her up with professional bad-ass (and smart-ass) Abby Sinclair, my most popular character.
In Dark Places is a fast-paced, intricate thriller with many twists and turns and a coldhearted film-noirish quality.
"Stalkerama," an Abby Sinclair short story
|
In 2006 I wrote a short story called
"Stalkerama" about my character Abby Sinclair,
who stars in four of my books (The Shadow Hunter,
Dangerous Games, Mortal Faults, and Final Sins).
The story was sold for 49 cents by Amazon Shorts, a
publishing venture of Amazon.com. Amazon Shorts is no more - but "Stalkerama" lives on! I've posted it on this site, and you don't even have to part with 49 cents to read it. |
The strange, unfunny story of Die Stupid
|
The best laid plans of squirrels and men ... For my first book written specifically for the ebook market, I tried something a little different. Okay, a lot different. I wrote Die Stupid, a goofball comedy send-up of the thriller genre. Only a few days after self-publishing the book, I began to get cold feet. Many of my regular readers were not amused. Some just hated the book. Others objected to my doing something so offbeat. Because I didn't want to do further damage to my reputation, I took my name off the book and replaced it with a silly pseudonym, Owen Fusterbuster. In my "official" bibliography, I don't list it as one of my titles. But some people do like it ... |
